The Journalism profession is one of the most prestigious professions in the world. A Communication Scholar, Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye once said after rapture, Journalism is the only profession that will remain in heaven as journalists will be busy reporting what is happening from the North, East, West and South of heaven so people can stay connected.
30 Solid years after meritorious Services in various capacities like the former Sunday Editor of The Nation, The Punch Newspapers where he was Group News Editor, City Editor and Group Political Editor, Lekan Otufodunrin will be taking a bow on the 31st of Decemeber,2018. Lekan Otufodunrin is a topnotch journalist and media career development specialist. He is the Outgoing Managing Editor, Online and Special Publications of The Nation Newspapers and founder of Media Career Development Network.
Fondly called, ’Uncle Lekan’ by admirers, Lekan Otufodunrin is a  passionate media trainer and counselor, he has organized and facilitated various impactful media training programs for all categories of journalists in Nigeria and in Africa which has enhanced the careers of participants.
Through Media Career Development Network, he has provided regular media career mentoring, coaching and networking opportunities for journalists to maximize the potentials of the profession, some of whom have risen from being reporters to editors.
Among others, he has trained and mentored journalists for Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism, International Press Centre, International Centre for Investigative Reporting, Nigerian Union of Journalists, United Nation Women and United States Consulate, Lagos .In furtherance of his media career work, Otufodunrin has a number of very practical and media industry relevant books to his credit which includes Purpose Driven Journalism, Excelling in Journalism, Reporter Extraordinaire, Journalism of My Life and The Journalist You Ought to Be. He has also bagged numerous awards for his professional practice and media career development work from media training departments of Polytechnics, Universities, Institutes and media organizations.
Otufodunrin holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos and a Certificate in Advance Digital Writing from the School of Communication, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos. He is also presently an Associate Lecturer at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos where he teaches Digital Media and Investigative Reporting.  He was an adjunct lecturer at the Mass Communication Department of University of Lagos and Professional External Examiner at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism while he also belongs to the Nigerian Union of Journalists and Nigeria Guild of Editors.
Otufodunrin is a fellow of some international media fellowships, including, Thomson Foundation, Cardiff, UK, Poynter Institute (School for Journalists), Florida, USA and Bloomberg Africa Leadership Initiative. He is the President of Journalists for Christ, a Governing Board member of Journalists Against AIDS, Secretary of the Africa Region of World Association for Christian Communication and Member of the Board of Trustees of Media Associate International (Africa).
Am sure most people will wonder why is he voluntarily bowing out after 30 years but the truth is for a robust town and gown mind discussions, the academics is in need of journalists with practical Experiences. Hence, Lekan Otufodunrin has resolved to continue in training and retraining of young journalist on the rudiments of the profession through his Media Career Development Network. I am sure one of these days, you’ll find him in your newsroom or classes as he continues in this vision.
All I have to say is to wish,‘Lekan Otufodunrin’ the best as he moves ahead in the vision of raising quality and competent Journalists for Africa and the World.

The Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, (GOMAN) have elected a new leader to steer the activities of the organisation for the next three years.
Evangelist Funmi Aragbaiye at its 2016 national elections emerged as the new President for the association after defeating the two other candidates, Evangelist Philip Olayiwola and Rev karis Ekpeyong with double of their votes.
 The emergence of Fumi Aragbaiye signalled the end of the tenure of Evangelist Timi Osunkoya popularly known as Telemi now Orokoya three year single tenure as president.
 In an interview with the popular Artiste, Funmi Aragbaiye, she thanked the almighty for making her witnessing the day after lots of call to serve the association which she earlier rejected. She attributed her success to God and progressive GOMAN members.
According to her,” I am going to work with everybody including the candidates that lost. By God’s grace, one of our agenda is to get a befitting secretariat for the association with the help of God”.
The Chairman of the GOMANEC election with the responsibility of conducting election in various officers in the association, Pastor Oluwaseun  Oluwatunmbi said we have never had it so good like this in the association for a long time. Before it was selection, now it was a real contested election which had a clear winner.
Evangelist Lanre teriba also emerged as deputy west while Hon Paul Ayodele North and Pst. Gabriel ibikunle as the new General Secretary.
The event was well attended by State  branches while many attributed the success of the new Presidents  at the polls to her many years of dedication to the work of God in the area of song ministration and her will to move the association forward.

…Egba Anglican Diocese celebrates 40th Anniversary in Grand-style

The Retiring Anglican Archbishop of Lagos, Prof. Adebayo Dada Akinde has faulted the location of Anglican headquarters primate seat in Abuja since history had it that the missionary first brought Christianity to Nigeria at Ake Precisely.
He made this statement at the thanksgiving service to round up the 40th Anniversary at the Cathedral Church of St Peter, Ake Abeokuta in Ogun State Capital.

The Gospel Music Ministers have put together a programme tagged ”All Nigeria Gospel Music revival Conference 2015” to trigger Kingdom revolution in the music ministry.
According to the Convener, Evangelist Timi Orokoya Telemi, President, Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria,(GOMAN) said the purpose of the programme is for Gospel artiste to know and understand their calling as well who has chosen and called them.
He further explained that” the conference will take the welfare of members seriously with various sporting and medical programmes that had been  designed aside other Business, finance, Singles and married, media relations and insurance seminars to excite the minds of participants.
The great revival conference which is scheduled to hold between 28th-30th,September,2015 at Ascon resort in Badagry  had thirteen Man Central Working Committee of great gospel musicians like  Evangelist Dr. Funmi Aragbaiye, Rev Bassey Ekpeyong, Pastor Folake Umoseen and a host of others.
Great men of God and Gospel Artiste like Pastor J.T Kalejaye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Evangelist Dr Ebenezer Obey-fabiyi, Dr. Panam Percy Paul, Pastor J.A Adelakun, a.k.a Ayewa and others will be present at the event, said the Convener.

At the grand finale  of the Annual Redeemed Christian Church of God,(RCCG) Convention ,the total number of children delivered at the convention totalled One hundred and Six babies. Fifty Nine female babies and forty Seven babies formed the total number of babies born at the programme.
The Convention Theme is the All Sufficient God held between 2-8th August,2015 successfully ended with Holy Communion with lots of dignitaries in attendance.

The annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.(RCCG) is set to begin. The event which is scheduled to hold between 3rd -9th is the 63 edition with theme: The All sufficient God. Miracles, divine touch, singspiriation and other power packed happenings. Pastor E.A Adeboye and other anointed ministers of God will be ministering at the event holding at Lagos-Ibadan express way, Ogun State, Nigeria.
