Shocking!
A 300 level Student
of Microbiology in the University of Lagos,(Unilag) gave up the ghost after ingesting
the local Insecticide known as Sniper.
The Student
by name Eniola Jacob after drinking Sniper on Saturday went straight to the
University Security unit to report the incident before he collapsed and was
rushed to the hospital. The reason for ingesting sniper still remains a mystery
to be unravelled.
Some
Students who preferred anonymity claimed maybe he is suffering academic defeat
and decided to take his life while some others claim he was forced by a cultist
group to drink the sniper for offending them. Eniola died at the Lagos
University teaching hospital,(LUTH) after the doctors battle to save his life
which proved abortive.
The
University of Lagos Students particularly microbiology Students and friends of
Eniola organised a candle light procession on Monday within the campus to show
brotherly care that he will surely be missed.
On Wednesday
of the same week, the Executives of a white garment fellowship in Unilag where
Eniola worships decided to pay the family a condolence visit to show their deep
concern over the death of their member, Unfortunately, The president, General
Secretary and two other Executives (names withheld) were arrested on the
parents instruction to be detained and charged for murder.
As at the
time of writing the story, Unilag management-Office if DSA and University of
Lagos Students Union are yet to come out with information official whether the
Students in detention had been released or not.
