Read the story of Agbash Richard Omere in this Interview with Tosin Adesile
Q: How did you feel when you got an award recently as the best Model of the year male in the University of Lagos?
A: I felt very elated when I got the award. It's a beautiful thing to be honored by your own people, that kind of recognition is rare and appreciated , so I say thank you “Unilag Awards” for breaking that jinx that a prophet is without no honour in his hometown, but this time,it was the opposite ".
A: What promoted a law student at the University of Lagos into Modelling?
Q. I guess am one of those few people who break out of the African setting to pursue a career other than what the society pressure them into. Law is a very interesting profession I hope to delve into much later in life however there's the sparkle I get from being around the camera; that thrill is why I model amongst other camera related jobs I do.
Q: Can you remember how you started or got attracted to modelling?
A: A saying goes thus "hunger begets talent" is actually a practical truth. This all began at the point in my life where my family couldn't afford to give me enough anymore and I had to stand up to think of how to be of benefit to them also. I wanted money and the question was "what can you do to get money" so I dug deep and brought all this out
Q: Who and who have you worked with since you began the journey into modelling contracts?
A: To mention a few, I have worked with many key designers and retail outlet, Nike, Mango, Jack and Jones, Sheria Ngowi from Tanzania, walked a good number of prominent fashion shows and booked for some others till the end of the year; I rather not tell but the pictures would. I also feature in short videos "sugar rush" by Tonto Dikeh, "I love my country" by DJ cuppy and a few others.
Q: Since you said you had got bookings till the end of the year, are you planning to dump law school which is in few months to now?
A. Dump modelling for law school? No way!! Didn't build a brand throughout my University days to throw away when modelling is now bringing yields. I would just manage both sides of me properly as I have earlier done although, it comes with its own challenges but who said it would be easy anyways?
Q: Any regret So far?
A. To be frank it looked really bleak when I started. My first set of pictures came out horrible and I wasn't certain if I really chose the right thing to do with myself, went for some auditions and got rejected over and over again but over time meeting people and evolving, I see a very bleak end at some times  when I have weekly bookings at sometimes, other times no bookings but it has been a very interesting ride and it just getting better. No regrets at all, I have learnt more than what an average Nigerian University graduate knows.
Q: Where do you see yourself in the next  five years to now?
A. Getting into Unilag, I saw myself five years from 2010 as a graduate, jobless, dependent and jumping in into law school and then the job market, in 2012 I changed my thoughts and entered the job market without a degree yet earning like some degree holders, in 2020 I can not pigeon hole my success to say I would be particularly this or that but with the growth I have experienced in the last three years of my life, next five years, I hope to have started a company that attends to the legal issues of entertainment.
What do you want to tell other young people pursuing a dream too?
A: If you dream about something, don't let it out to everyone, not everyone will encourage you, commit your dreams to God, brace yourself and work your dream till it becomes reality.
