The Retiring Anglican Archbishop of Lagos, Prof. Adebayo Dada
Akinde has faulted the location of Anglican headquarters primate seat in Abuja
since history had it that the missionary first brought Christianity to Nigeria
at Ake Precisely.
He made this statement at the thanksgiving service to round
up the 40th Anniversary at the Cathedral Church of St Peter, Ake
Abeokuta in Ogun State Capital.
According to him, “Cathedral Church of St Peter would have
been used to preserve history but hitherto, we need to thank God considering
the journey of the Church from Christian Missionary Society to Egba/Egba
Diocese and when it was finally broken down and Egba became a Diocese on its
own and today we are 40”.
The Cleric spoke on absolute Blessedness while quoting
scriptures from the book of Deuteronomy 28:1-2. He really emphasised the need
to thank God always.
The Diocese Bishop of Egba, Rt. Rev E.O Emmanuel Adekunle who
became the fourth Bishop of the Diocese said what the Lord is currently doing
Egba we cannot tell it all. He appreciated its past Bishop legacy and he
promised to continue developing the Diocese with over twenty five church
Buildings, Mission headquarter, Chaplaincy courts and Hostels for Students he
had embarked on since assumption as the Bishop.
