Scarcity of petrol has continued to bite harder in Auchi, Etsako West
Local Government Area of Edo State, Some parts of Lagos and Ogun State as the price of the product ranges between 100-
N180 per litre.
The product now sells for between N150 and N180 per litre at petrol
stations in Auchi and its environs where the product is available.
N87 per litre is the official pump price approved by the Nigerian Government.
The commodity was being sold in the black market at N300 per litre.
Some motorists expressed their disappointment of having too endure long queues to get fuel even at that price.
A motorist, Sunday Oshoke, blamed NNPC officials for failing to address the issue, despite their promises.
Another motorist, Monday Eruagha, also expressed his dismay over the development.
“I cannot understand what is happening in this country. We have fuel, but we still suffer to buy, even after subsidy.
“Government should address the problem that causing scarcity of
petrol that is compelling the citizens to be buying it a high price,” he
said.
Efforts to speak with the managements of the filling stations were futile as they declined to offer comments.
