As part of efforts to appreciate excellence in our society, the
2018 Edition of Bright Media Merit Award has been held in Lagos to celebrate
people of great impact. Announcing the winners, The Chairman Planning
Committee, Tosin Adesile listed Ibrahim Yusuf of the Nations Sunday Desk, Efe
Soriyan,(GM,NTA Tejusoho),Mr. Seyi Whenu,(Permanent Secretary, Office of the
Chief of Staff),Emmanuel Faleti and others clinches awards ranging from
Journalist, Media Personality, Administrator and Entrepreneur of the year respectively.
The Guest Lecturer, Prof. Virgy Onyene, Head of Department,
Educational Management, University of Lagos who spoke on Our Education, Our
Pride described Nigeria's major problem as
implementation problem adding that Nigeria has one of the Best curriculum in
the world. She further enjoined the government to take Education seriously as
education can solve our problem while calling for urgent reforms in the
education sector.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Barrister Femi Kolajo enjoined
Nigerians to continue being hopeful in the midst of daunting challenges
confronting Nigeria. He noted that things will get better when we all do the
right thing which is the reason for this awards as people of impact are being
rewarded by Bright Media merit Award which had been in existence for over 15
years.
An Awardee, Emmanuel Faleti who bagged the Fast rising entrepreneur
of the year appreciated God for the opportunity to be considered for a unique
awards like this two years after National Youth Service Corps and with the
support of Bank of Industry.
